ABOUT
Hi There! I'm Ann, a surfer among other things. You can catch me floating around good beginner breaks in Orange County, California.
I took my first surf class at Endless Sun Surf School at the Newport Beach Pier in May of 2023 as a 55 year old. I'm living my dream of being near the ocean after having grown up around the third coast -- the Great Lakes. I am awed by the natural environment here in the OC on a near-daily basis.
I currently work at the University of California at Irvine. A lifelong educator, I am now a certified mindfulness meditation teacher through the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. I'm also a Board-eligible Health & Wellness Coach through the Academic Integrative Medicine Health & Wellness Coaching Certificate Program at the UCI Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute. My home break is Blackies, just north of Newport Beach Pier at 21st Street. You can find me there, or at San O, Bolsa, or Doheny, most weekends.
